Teddy Wilson For Quiet Lovers

We're sure that not many folks would like to be hailed as "quiet" lovers, but the set's got an undeniable charm — and a perfect sound to match the promise of the title ! Wilson's piano is beautifully laidback — still with some of the poise of years past, but also bringing in some slight earthy tones too — almost Red Garland territory on some of the bluesier numbers, yet a bit more composed on other evergreens. Players include Milt Hinton on bass and Jo Jones on drums — and titles include "Who's Sorry Now", "April In Paris", "Moonlight On The Ganges", "When Your Lover Has gone", "Blues For The Oldest Profession", "Birth Of The Blues", and "It Had To Be You".
