Andreï Vieru Plays Beethoven, Liszt, Bach & Scriabin

The Romanian eminent pianist, Andreï Vieru, was born in a musical family : his father was the composer Anatol Maseru and his mother was a musicologist. Andrei Vieru had two main passions: music and mathematics, while during his adolescence period both painting and psychology attracted him. Finally, the field of music overcame. After graduating the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Bucharest, he attended musical lessons with Carlo Zecchi from Salzbourg and Lev Naoumov from Moscow.
Following a long brilliant career in Romania, Andreï Vieru established in Paris. His first debut took place in 1989 at the Radio France Auditorium , then after he performed at the Salle Gaveau, the Auditorium-Châtelet, Théâtre de la Ville, and again at the Radio France Auditorium. He has appeared in Belgium, Germany, England and Canada.
Andreï Vieru is frequently compared to the eminent Romanian pianists such as Dinu Lipatti and Radu Lupu. He recorded extensively for the Radio France, Radio Classique, FR3, SBF Berlin, RTV Bucharest and collaborated with the Anton Marcus Constant Quaetet, the Lindsay Quartet, Ion Marin, Régis Pasquier, and Sonia Wieder-Atherton. Among his best known performances are Bach's Goldberg Variations (BWV 988), Well-Tempered Clavier, the Art of Fugue (BWV 1080), Liszt's Sonata, L.v. Beethoven' Diabelli Variations, and Scriabin's piano works.
