Eddie Costa & Sal Salvador Quartet

This edition includes the complete quartet recordings of the Sal Salvador-Eddie Costa Quartet, originally issued on three and a half LPs. The three first dates are from one of the famous “Kenton Presents” series. The following titles are from the second Sal’s leadership date, from the third LP quartet issue, and from a Sal’s record which also contains septet and quintet dates with other jazzmen. Also included on this release, as bonus tracks, is the complete session under the saxophonist Frank Socolow leadership, and featuring legendary westcoaster trombonist Eddie Bert in addition to the Salvador-Costa quartet.
Jim Miller, San Francisco Chronicle

“With these LPs Sal Salvador enhances his fame as one of the world’s most articulate exponents of the single-string guitar technique.”

Never thought I'd see these tracks again! Costa is one of my favorite unknown musicians, and I try to get everything he's done.
