Jazz on Disques Vogue : The Perfect Collection (7-14)

It is well known that the early 1960s Vogue was the leading label of the "yé-yé" generation, releasing the first recordings of Johnny Hallyday, Jacques Dutronc and Antoine. However, it is often forgotten that Vogue was also an independent French label created in 1947 by Léon Cabat, Charles Delaunay and Albert Ferreri, three jazz enthusiasts and record collectors who were motivated by the idea of releasing 78rpm records of America jazz musicians, unavailable in France since the beginning of the Second World War. Charles and Albert had known each other since the middle of the 1930s. Albert, a jazz saxophonist, was on of the musicians who hung out at the offices of the Hot Club de France, a small house on rue Chaptal, listening to records or practicing in the basement. It was there that Charles Delaunay, secretary of the Hot Club de France Association, published the magazine Jazz Hot and organized concerts in Paris and the provinces. In 1937, associated with Hugues Panassié, Delaunay became the founder and art director of Swing, a label promoting jazz records that were distributed by Pathé Marconi. During the Occupation, the Hot Club de France remained open and Léon Cabat participated in meetings of jazz record collectors. A dozen years younger that Charles and Albert, Léon's natural timidity was boosted by his friends' experience giving him enough audacity, ambition and determination to launch a project when he was just 25 : the creation of a record company. Benefiting from the popularity of jazz at the end of the 1940s, the label, called Jazz Selection, was initially distributed by their own company, Jazz Disques, but then rapidly absorbed by another company founded by the same group of friends : Vogue Productions Internationales Phonographics. Léon Cabat was President, General Director, Albert Ferreri, Associate Managing Director and Charles Delaunay, Managing Director, then Director of Publicity in the 1960s. His label Swing, joined the Vogue catalogue in 1951...

Melanchthon, once more, this a very rare revelation you are sharing with us and we shall be very grateful.
As to the volume dealing with the great Oscar Pettiford, the server informs that its link http://lix.in/-db7b82 wasn't found, althought all the others are fine.
Any mistake on its link, maybe?
All the others are fine.
