Gerald Wiggins Trio - Reminiscin' With Wig

On this CD reissue, pianist Gerald Wiggins performs charming and sly versions of some unlikely material, including "Three O'Clock in the Morning," "Oh, You Beautiful Doll," "Ma, She's Making Eyes at Me" and "In My Merry Oldsmobile." The lightly swinging renditions (which also feature bassist Eugene Wright and drummer Bill Douglass) are enjoyable if not essential; the relatively brief program adds a previously unissued second version of "In My Merry Oldsmobile" to the original program.

I only knew Wig for his work as accompanist for Ella Fitzgerald ("Pure Ella") and as soloist in a rare album, "Concert in Argentina"
So many thanks Melanchthon for another excellent share!
