The emphasis on this fine LP is on John Lewis' piano playing. Taking time off from the Modern Jazz Quartet and his orchestral writing, Lewis performs five standards plus two of his originals ("Delaunay's Dilemma" and "Love Me") in a trio with drummer Connie Kay and either George Duvivier or Percy Heath on bass. A master at playing blues, Lewis' versatility and solid sense of swing can be heard on such songs as his two originals as well as "Now's the Time," "Yesterdays," and "September Song."

What a wonderful week with your records, Mel. It's takes me all my spare time! I'm happy with your blog...

Thanks for all the great posts, Mel. Love this one! I have a rapidshare account, but I still can't dl the rapidshare links... they're always unavailable. no matter what time I try. I appreciate the other options you have made available - but I wonder why rapidshare is limiting you so much!
Everybody's happy and everybody's thanking, but the file can't be reached with these two options.
I saw an improvement on the last post with Nirvana where there are several options.
I sure do hope that this will continue like that and the fight for accessing the files will cease.
Thanks for reposting some of the albums from the great Melanchton collection
At last, I got it!
Thank you Melanchthon!
I have this album, and like it, but only at mp3 320. I can't see the bit rate anywhere. I'm also having trouble gaining access so if you would kindly tell us if it is lossless, I'll know whether it is appropriate to persevere. Mamy thanks.
Rodney: everything's lossless here.
Thank you, Frank. Will get up early tomorrow and hope to get lucky with RS.
Thanks for this John Lewis album.
